What if the first thought
at 4PM stopped being
"I need a drink"?
It starts before you open the fridge.
It starts the moment the thought arrives.
That thought is what The 4PM Club is built to stop.
A membership community for high-functioning men and women in midlife who are ready to break
the end-of-day drinking habit β without AA, without labels, and without losing who they are.
If your brain works differently β and you've always suspected that's part of why 4PM hits the
way it does β you're in exactly the right place.

3:58PM
The calculation starts. Not consciously. It just arrives.
4:15PM
You're still working but part of your brain has already left.
5:30PM
The first drink. Relief. And with it, the quiet disappointment.
7:00PM
The evening is happening somewhere just out of reach.
Midnight
You promise yourself tomorrow will be different. Again.
That loop β from thought to drink to disappointment to promise β is a neurological pattern. Not a character flaw. Not a weakness.
And it starts with the thought at 3:58.
"The 4PM Club doesn't start at the fridge. It starts at theΒ thought.
That's where this is won or lost."
β You don't drink chaotically. You drink at 4PM. Habitually. Predictably.
β You've tried cutting back. The thought still arrives right on schedule.
β You've Googled sobriety and found nothing that looks or sounds like you.
β AA isn't for you. Labels aren't for you. But this thought, every day, isn't either.
β You've suspected your ADHD or neurodivergent brain plays a role β and you're right.
β You want your evenings back. Your clarity. Your edge. Your identity β intact.
The 4PM Club is built for exactly this moment.
BUILT BY SOMEONE WHO LIVED IT
I'm not your guru.
I'm your proof of concept.Β
I'm 54. I have ADHD. For years I used the 4PM drink to decompress after high-pressure days β and it worked, right up until it didn't. I know exactly what that moment feels like: the rationalising, the negotiating with yourself, the way the whole evening quietly disappears.
What I understand β from my own experience and from coaching hundreds of midlife men and women β is that the ADHD or neurodivergent brain is particularly vulnerable to this pattern. We're wired for dopamine. We're high-stimulation people living in low-stimulation evenings. The drink fills a gap that willpower was never designed to fill.
I didn't go to AA. I didn't get a label. I didn't become a different person. I built a system β The 4PM Resetβ’ β that interrupted the cycle at the exact moment it mattered. Two and a half years later, my evenings are mine. And I coach midlife people through the same process.
"Be Sober at 50. Be Strong at 60. That's not a tagline. It's what'sΒ available on the other side of this habit."
THE PATHWAY
Two steps.
One direction.
The Midlife Mentor ecosystem is built as a clear progression. You don't need to figure out where to start β the path is laid out for you.
The 4PM Club is built on three things that make the habit change stick:
You can join the 4PM Club directly if you've already done the foundational work. But most members complete the 4PM Reset Course first β then stay inside the community because it's where the real change happens.
THE FRAMEWORK
Not recovery.
Rewiring.
Everything inside the 4PM Club connects back to three frameworks. They're built specifically for how the midlife brain β and the neurodivergent brain in particular β processes reward, habit, and change.
WHAT YOU GET
Simple.
Consistent. Built for busy midlife.
The 4PM Club is deliberately simple. No daily content to keep up with. No overwhelm. Just a clear weekly rhythm that works around your life β not the other way around.
Your week inside the community
Everything inside the membership
IS THIS FOR YOU?
Be honest with yourself.
FROM THE COMMUNITY
What members actually say.
βI'd tried cutting back a dozen times. Matt's 4PM Reset was the first thing that felt like it wasΒ designed for someone like me β a busy guy in his 50s whose brain never switches off. Not aΒ recovery programme. A system that actually works.β
β Mark, 52 Β· London
βWhen Matt explained the ADHD and dopamine angle I actually felt relief for the first time. IΒ wasn't broken. My brain just needed a different approach. Two months in and my evenings areΒ unrecognisable.β
β Dave, 48 Β· Manchester
βThe fortnightly calls are where this becomes real. It's not a sharing circle. It's practical, directΒ coaching from someone who's been exactly where I was. I couldn't find anything else like it.β
β Sarah, 54 Β· Edinburgh

QUESTIONS
Straight answers.
Is this a recovery programme?
No. There's no recovery framing, no step work, no identity labels. It's a performance and habit community built around a specific moment β 4PM β and a specific system for changing what happens in that moment.
Do I need to have ADHD to join?
No. But if your brain works differently β whether that's diagnosed ADHD, neurodivergence, or just the sense that you've always been wired for high stimulation β the frameworks here are built with you in mind. Many members don't have a formal diagnosis and find this framing the most useful they've ever encountered.
Do I have to be fully sober to join?
No. Members join at different stages. What matters is that you're serious about breaking the habit and ready to engage with the system.
What if I need clinical support?
If your drinking requires medical intervention, this community is not the right first step. Please speak to your GP. The 4PM Club is for high-functioning habitual drinkers β not people in medical crisis.
How much time does it take?
A Monday video (under 5 minutes), a Thursday check-in post, and a fortnightly call. That's the structure. It's designed for people with full lives β not people with hours to spare.
Can I cancel?
Yes. Monthly membership can be cancelled any time with no penalties. If you cancel and rejoin, you return at the rate available at that time.
Is this only for men?
No. The positioning leads with men because that's the most underserved part of the midlife sobriety market. But women who connect with the performance framing β and who want a community without recovery culture β are absolutely welcome and active inside.Β
